Black screen when installing Snow Leopard on a... →
If your screen goes blank while installing OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard on some older Macbook Pros, the machine hasn’t frozen - it’s just that its backlight has shut off. In a bright environment, you can make out the image and finish the installation. After the installation is complete, just tap the screen brightness function key, and everything will be back to normal.
